More 16th century short, wide jackets

It was of course, not only in Centrasl and Northern Europe that women (and men) wore these short, wide jackets - here's two examples from France and Italy.

Nordiska museet (The Nordic museum) in Stockholm has a partially coloured copy of Weigels Trachtenbuch from 1577, where you can find a French noblewoman and two women from Naples wearing them:
