It was very hard to come up with a title for this, but almost all the various combainatiosn we photographed during this lovely September weekend in Dalsland has rowan berries in one way or another.
And rowan berreis was the inspiration behind all the outfits. I made a wreath and chains with rowan berries, a green thin cotton dress based on my regency muslin gowns, a rust wool bodice, as a wearable mock-up for my new folk costume bodice, and a short waistcoat/spencer like garment from an old, red cotton satin sheet. I also brought my green folk costume skirt for more hobbit-y photos.
Green gown and red waistcoat, some kind of tomte? Nature spirit?
Hobbit in the woods
The green dress with a red belt, braided hair and the rowan wreath makes for some other kind of fairytale figure.
Rowan berries are not the only thigns to wear in your hair. I bought these flowers from a charity shop because I wanted to make something Mucha inspired.
With braids, and waistcoat, reminiscent of his political Slavic works
