The Elemental Series: Earth 2021

It all started with my making a wire crown to be worn in a ritual, symbolising the element fire. It was fun, and fairly simple to make something pretty, if not perfect.

So somehow I ended up making a crown for each of the elements (a new one for fire). And then you need to make outfits, and take photos. Obviously.

Earth is, together with Air, my favourite of the crowns, and it is tigetehr with Water, my favourite photoshoot. Both of them were made in the same place in Dalsland: Rolfskärr, where we occasionally rent a cottage.

This is the first of my fantasy photo shoots when I brought lots of different options. So you will see two different outfits on this page.

The one specifically made so that it could be used both for these photos and for in the SCA is my 12th century green wool bliaut, seen in these photos.

The cloak is just a thrifted shawl pinned to my shoulders with brooches.

I also have these photos, with my leaf cape. It is made from fabric sent to me from friends, which are mounted on a cotton base fabric with zig-zag stitch. It is lined with thin wool, and rather warm and nice to wear in cool spring and summer nights.

There's a video too:

I also took some photos in the same wedding smock as for the Air photos, and added a waistcoat/sleeveless spencer, that I made to wear with my Regency ball gown.

Close up of the crown from when I did a quick make-up trial and went to some bushes and took a photo.
